Zach Stevenson is a member of the electrical/computer and design practice groups. Zach’s practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, including both utility and design patent applications. Zach has prepared various utility patent applications for a variety of technologies, including computer networking software, web hosting software, medical devices, financial technologies, etc.  Zach has also prepared design patent applications for a variety of different fields of invention, including consumer products, fashion/wearables, luxury goods, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and various other products.

Zach began his career by working for a small software development company that specialized in connecting modern web solutions to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Resource Management (CRM) systems. After six years of industry experience, Zach decided to change his career and attended Emory University, School of Law to become a patent attorney. At Emory, Zach participated in the TI:GER program, a multi-disciplinary program where law students obtain real-world skills developing an intellectual property strategy and commercialization plan for a PhD candidate’s innovation.

After law school, Zach worked for Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (“GLARTS”), a non-profit that assists under-resourced artists and inventors obtain legal assistance in Georgia. Zach primarily worked on the patent program (Georgia PATENTS) at GLARTS, which focused on educating new inventors on the patenting process and preparing their inventions for patenting. Zach still volunteers his time with GLARTS to teach a quarterly Patents 101 seminar to teach new inventors the basics of the U.S. patent system. Zach has been recognized by the USPTO for providing Pro Bono assistance to under-resourced inventors in Georgia.
