Morgan Perkins, Ph.D. brings a unique blend of scientific expertise to Thomas|Horstemeyer. Morgan is a graduate of Lyon College with a double major in chemistry and mathematics. In 2022, she received her Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Mississippi (UM), where she was an active member of a lab specializing in computational chemistry research. Morgan’s graduate work utilized physics, mathematics, and high-performance computing to gain insights into important chemical problems, making her well-versed in the intricacies of both the chemical and computational sciences. She frequently collaborated with experimental groups in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UM, using quantum chemical tools to aid research in a variety of areas, such as organic electronics.
During this time, Morgan also worked in UM’s Office of Technology Commercialization. She joined the Technology Commercialization team in guiding university researchers through the beginning steps of the patent process, including interviewing inventors and performing patentability searches.
